Pet Commissions
Work In Progress
Sept '24

I am currently working on a very exciting painting of a Highland Pony on the Balmoral Estate in the Cairngorms. It seems to be my aim now to do paintings of each of the Native Ponies of the British Isles having completed a couple of Connemaras and I have a Fell pony waiting in the background.  Of course the Lake District is where my Mother was born and bred. However, this is a Highland, doing its job as a pack pony.

After completing this, I have a commission for a fabulous chestnut horse which is a Christmas present.  I like to intersperse the commissions with landscapes so that I have a constant turnover of artwork for competitions and sales.  I am also working on an idea, in my mind, for this year's Christmas Shmoo card!! Then another commission, this time of a doggie which is another Christmas gift!

The Portsmouth & Hants Art Society  Exhibition at Portsmouth Cathedral during August was a tremendous success and very exciting as it was my first time exhibiting. I even made it into a video interview talking about the influence of the Connemara ponies in my work AND the Portsmouth News paper/website. The link for the video is below on Facebook.

Shortlisted SAA Artist of the Year '24
June '24

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would become an Award Winning Artist...but it seems as though destiny had further surprises for me.  When the results came out on the Zealous platform it said I had not been successful which made it even more of a surprise when I received an email to say my painting 'Camargue Ponies I' had been shortlisted in the competition.

This, along with 'Camargue Ponies II', 'Are We Coming Home?' and 'Aughris' will be appearing and for sale at Portsmouth Cathedral, 17-26 August '24 in the Portsmouth & Hants Art Society Exhibition. These framed works will be accompanied by 8 mounted works all For Sale.
