October '24
The Christmas Card is ready to go to print! Donations go to Portsmouth Cats, Lost, Found & Rehomed for EVERY card sold via their Facebook Groups.
My original painting, of my muse, Shmoo', of course will go nowhere and will never be for sale. This piece has sparkly silver snow flakes scattered across it.
Unison 5 Day Challenge
October '24
I decided to sign up for a 5 day challenge course run by Unison Pastels based in Northumberland, UK. It is being led by Stephen Fuller and we are on Day 3! It's been a fascinating journey so far and the course includes a Q&A session every evening at 7pm for an hour. There have been some interesting discussions about why warm colours bring this towards you and cool pushes them away. All imperative stuff to know. Picture right is from Day 3.
Work In Progress

Presently, I am working on a commission of a chestnut horse called 'Annie'. You can follow my progress painting this on both my Facebook and Instagram accounts of the same name 'Paws Fine Art'.
Another Award for 2024
October '24
Last month I joined the Pastel Guild of Europe and entered the September competition. I am delighted to announce that I was awarded 3rd prize for my Lancaster Bomber painting 'Lest We Forget'. I feel this Guild will open doors to customers and competitions abroad. It gives a really good bench mark as to how you compare to other pastel artists 'out there'.
Completed 'Fell in the Glen'
Sept '24
I am currently working on a very exciting painting of a Fell Pony on the Balmoral Estate in the Cairngorms. It seems to be my aim now to do paintings of each of the Native Ponies of the British Isles having completed a couple of Connemaras.
I like to paint my ideas and inspirations in between commissions.

Portsmouth & Hants Art Society Exhibition
Aug '24
The Portsmouth & Hants Art Society Exhibition at Portsmouth Cathedral during August was a tremendous success and very exciting as it was my first time exhibiting. I even made it into a video interview talking about the influence of the Connemara ponies in my work AND the Portsmouth News paper/website. The link for the video is below on Facebook.
Shortlisted SAA Artist of the Year '24
June '24
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would become an Award Winning Artist...but it seems as though destiny had further surprises for me. When the results came out on the Zealous platform it said I had not been successful which made it even more of a surprise when I received an email to say my painting 'Camargue Ponies I' had been shortlisted in the competition.
This, along with 'Camargue Ponies II', 'Are We Coming Home?' and 'Aughris' will be appearing and for sale at Portsmouth Cathedral, 17-26 August '24 in the Portsmouth & Hants Art Society Exhibition. These framed works will be accompanied by 8 mounted works all For Sale.
